We’re halfway through the summer, but there’s still plenty of time to go outside and have a picnic! After all, who doesn’t love enjoying some sunshine and fresh air while indulging in delicious treats? To keep things fun and unique, forego the traditional picnic and opt for one of these creative picnic themes:
Fiesta: Head south of the border with a fiesta inspired picnic. Set up chips, dips, guacamole and nachos for a spicy alternative to a normal picnic. A candy filled pinata is an easy source of entertainment that the kids (and adults!) will love!
Luau: Travel to Hawaii, without the expense! A luau themed picnic is always a good idea. Have your family and friends wear hawaiian shirts and leis, and serve up tropical dishes. Don’t forget to bring some music to practice your hula dancing or to play limbo!
Safari: Get ready for an adventure with a safari themed picnic. Pack binoculars and organize a scavenger hunt for the kids. Don’t forget to bring trail mix, finger sandwiches and canteens to serve drinks out of for an extra touch!
Wild West: Draw your (water) guns and mosey on down to the wild, wild, west! Serve your guests some BBQ ribs, baked beans and cornbread and don’t forget to have a variety of pies. A lasso competition is a fun picnic activity or get the cards out for a game of poker.
