Don’t go crazy with the music.
While music loosens people up and dancing definitely adds fun to the party, too loud of music can limit guests’ ability to mingle with each other — they won’t be able to hear what anyone else is saying.

Do actually show up.
If you RSVP “yes,” you need to actually show up, even if it’s only for a little while. Not only is it inconsiderate if you don’t, but it’s a waste of money that your office could’ve spent on other things.
Do speak to people you haven’t met yet.
This is a chance to mingle people you haven’t met yet, especially if you work in a large company with different departments. Get out of your comfort zone, and don’t just hang out with the people you see every day.

Don’t underdress.
Whether or not there is a defined dress code, don’t show up in anything too casual or inappropriate. When in doubt, dress casual is usually a safe choice.
Don’t enjoy the bar too much.
Everyone loves an open bar, but don’t make your drinks your best friends. The last thing you need is to have one too many and be the talk of the office for the rest of the year.
